WHO IS BOB MILLER AND WHAT ABOUT THIS PASSION FOR GENETICS?
I met Bob when I traveled to his B-Bar-C Quarter Horses quarter horse farm to photograph his foundation bred stallions for this website. Talking to Bob on the phone, it was obvious he had a passion for foundation-bred quarterhorses and the genetics knowledge he had was over my head. After meeting Bob in person, his stallions, and listening and reading his genetics material, I personally will never look at a horse's pedigree the same. I learned much about line breeding, inbreeding, hybrid vigor, and how the blood of Three Bars in particular has impacted the horse population in all phases of showing, racing, and winning.
HORSE PEOPLE ARE EMOTIONAL ABOUT THE BLOODLINES OF THEIR HORSES!
Everyone thinks their horse's pedigree is best! Everyone has their favorites. But if you look down the pedigree of the good ones, you'll find Three Bars blood there. A statement I read in Bob's genetics material impacted me:
"Don't let emotions factor your decision on your breeding program. The Progressive breeder of tomorrow will follow a plan, they will engineer every mating they make, so that, each and every performer or breeder possesses superior math parameters above that of the average."
